The Dark Lands
The Dark Lands, is a socially motivated project about cultural attitudes and approaches to behaviour. It is an illustrated comic - my interpretation of a piece of creative writing by Liam, age 10, which I felt symbolised his experience as a child with ADHD, and how he is perceived by society. It was such a privilege to be given permission by Liam and his mum, Katie, to share his story in this way - through my own eyes. Liam and Katie have shown such incredible courage in sharing their insights and experiences, and my deepest, heartfelt thanks go to them for their engagement with the project and faith in me as an illustrator.
